The Liana Trust operates from The Liana Forest Farm, a 10 acre living space that hosts patches of wilderness, our conservation center, home and an organic kitchen garden. Once an industrially farmed parcel of land with negligible biodiversity, the conversion to a forest farm began in 2014. At this time, we halted the use of all synthetic agents, and began mulching to restore the health of the soil. We then planted dozens of native species of flora. Today, The Liana Forest Farm is home to 50 types of fruiting trees, XYZ mammals, ABC bird species, XYZ reptiles and amphibians, and an organic garden that produces vegetables for in-house consumption.
Our team is now working with XY neighboring farmers to guide their transition to organic operations. Alongside this conversion, we are in conversation with resorts operating around the closeby Kabini Wildlife Sanctuary to ensure a market for this organic produce at a premium rate.
