In collaboration with the Karnataka and other State Forest Departments, The Liana Trust holds intensive workshops on human-snake conflict management for forest staff around the country. Forest department personnel learn snake ecology, identification and biology, as well as snake handling best practices, how to respond in case of snake bite, and other aspects of human snake conflict and herpetology. Such workshops equip these personnel, who are often the first point of contact for snake removal and snake bite management, to handle volatile situations as safely and effectively as possible.
The Liana Trust also collaborates with the Karnataka Forest Department on the numerous research projects underway. Further, the permits and logistical support provided by the department are crucial to the success of these studies.
